At Pup Pup & Away, we want every pet parent to do what they feel is right for their pet’s health. To keep everyone safe and healthy, we have some requirements and recommendations.
-Required: Every pet must go through our Orientation Period (see below) regardless of their socialization history
-Required vaccinations: All pets must be up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations
-Rabies-We accept 1-year and 3-year vaccinations. Speak with your vet about what is best for your pet
-Distemper and Parvo- We accept 1-year and 3-year vaccinations. Speak with your vet about what is best for your pet
-Bordetella- We accept 6-month and 1-year vaccinations. Speak to your vet about what is best for your pet
-Highly Recommended vaccinations: It would be a great idea to also have the following vaccinations. Speak to your vet about what is best for you and your pet
**We also accept titer tests for all required and recommended vaccinations to replace vaccination. All paperwork must have the date of the titer test and state how long results should be valued
-All pets are required to be clear from any vomiting, diarrhea, sneezing or coughing within 24 hours of their next visit
-All pets must be outfitted with his or her own snap-release buckle collar with name tag (the same buckle you would find on a fanny pack)
All pets are required to be temperament tested through our Orientation regardless of their socialization history. Dogs who have visited other daycare facilities have been known to require additional training to be accepted into our program as we have a higher standard of the type of play and behaviors we allow.
Daycare Orientation Package- $210
This Orientation Package is a mandatory 4-day process for all new Sidekicks wishing to join our daycare program. This time allows our dog trainers to test temperament and playstyle, get an idea of what behaviors your Sidekick may already know, teach the “rules” of the daycare (no jumping, sit at gates and doors, etc.), and gives your dog ample time to get comfortable with their new surroundings and friends.
You can expect your pup to be paired with a dog trainer for slow introduction into a daycare group matched to their size and temperament at their own pace. Once socialization is complete, our dog trainers will work on building behaviors useful to our daycare staff. These behaviors include come, stepping back form gates and doors, sit-stays to be released from kennels, proper play skills, and desensitization to collars being grabbed by humans.
Training Orientation Package- $70
While we would love every doggy guest to enjoy our daycare program, we understand group play isn’t for everyone. If you are interested in boarding, participating in one of our day training or board & train programs, and don’t wish for your dog to participate in group play, this 2-day Orientation Package allows your pup to get acquainted with our facility and staff to better prepare them for their stay or training days.
