Bringing in a new furry companion into our home is an exciting and rewarding time. Love and devotion are a must. But dogs do some doggy things we humans aren’t too fond of- run, bark, dig, chew! At Pup Pup and Away, we want to give you, the family, the tools needed to be your dog’s leader and teacher. We work closely with the entire family to make your furry friend a part of the family.
Trust is a key component in building a family which is why we use Positive Reinforcement Training. We focus on communication, timing, consistency and teaching appropriate behaviors.
Our group classes are tons of fun with lots of learning. Not only will your pup gain a foundation in basic manners, you will walk away with a better understanding of how dogs learn. Our goal is to give you the tools needed to enjoy a long and happy life with your sidekick.
The Power Puppy Class helps your puppy start off on the right paw. Six basic behaviors- sit, down, leave it, come, loose leash walking and roll over- will be covered. Big puppy topics such as crate training, bite inhibition and socialization will also be discussed. This is an off-leash class, which means your puppy will practice appropriate play manners with other puppies while you practice control in high distraction environments. Short play sessions make the perfect reward for our training exercises. This is a great class for kiddos younger than 5 months of age.
The Canine Sidekick Class provides the perfect learning environment for pups 5 months and older. While there is no open-play in this class, an array of basic manners is covered. You pup will have a chance to develop super-skills in manners such as sit, down, leave it, loose leash walking, come, place, and touch.
